New England has its own unique charm, and from Rhode Island to Maine, you'll find signs of it everywhere: lighthouses dotting the coastline, hydrangeas in full bloom, little islands and inlets, fields of wildflower meadows, fishing boats bringing in the daily catch, lupines blooming off the beaten path, and charming seaside towns full of treasures.
Here are some of my favorite photos of this special place I feel lucky to call home.

Long Point Lighthouse, Provincetown, Massachusetts
Long Point Lighthouse marks the very tip of Cape Cod and is perched on a sandy stretch of beach, offering beautiful views in a tranquil New England coastal setting.
You can get here a few different ways, but my favorite is by taking the Long Point Shuttle from MacMillan Pier in Ptown. You'll hop on the shuttle boat and enjoy a scenic 10 minute ride across the harbor as you make your way to Long Point. Keep an eye out for the seals bobbing up and down close to the shore. Sometimes you can hear them singing!
Once at Long Point Beach, your captain will drop you off and you'll have the whole island to yourself. You'll be picked up at the same location, so make a note of it when you're off the boat. Make sure to check the shuttle times running that day so you know when to meet the boat.
Once on Long Point, feel free to explore. You'll see the lighthouse and a large wooden cross which was placed as a memorial for a fallen WWII soldier. Take a leisurely walk along the shore and comb for washed up shells and treasures, but I would not recommend swimming, as there are no lifeguards and a very real possibility of sharks. In Cape Cod, where there are seals, there could be sharks nearby, which is why I only dip my toes in here.
Enjoy your stay with whatever you brought along (towels, snacks & drinks, etc.), and be sure to bring everything back with you, as there are no trash bins. There are no restrooms either, so plan for that, too.
This is a must-do if you're in Ptown for the day. I hope you enjoy your trip!
